This true 90-degree shoulder milling solution delivers exceptional performance in steel machining from roughing to finishing, along with the highest levels of security, versatility and productivity.
CoroMill® MS20 combines high-quality cutter bodies and precision-engineered inserts to achieve excellent surface finishes and wall quality in repeated shoulder milling operations. The robust cutter body enables high tolerances on axial and radial run-out, improving component quality and reducing scrap. Produced using the latest pressing technologies, these inserts offer greater dimensional accuracy, further increasing insert life and component quality.
"CoroMill® MS20 has already proven its value in machining ISO M and ISO S materials. The addition of the GC1230 grade makes it the first choice for ISO P applications, particularly in general engineering and the automotive sector," says Sangram Dash, Global Product Manager for Indexable Milling Tools at Sandvik Coromant. "Due to its versatility, it is ideal for various applications, such as repeated shoulder milling, face milling, linear and helical ramping, full slotting, and plunging."
The GC1230 steel milling grade is engineered using advanced coating and substrate technologies that give it outstanding wear resistance and exceptional edge-line security. "The insert wear pattern is gradual and reliable, which reduces unplanned tool changes and increases productivity," explains Dash.
