ONA H400 die-sinking EDM machine completely overhauled and updated by Boris Technologies, incorporating a new numerical control, new electronics, a new EDM generator, and a modern operator interface.
The retrofit was developed to enhance the machine's original mechanical structure, maintaining the typical solidity and robustness of ONA machines while bringing it up to current operating standards in terms of control, automation, usability, and erosion process management.
The machine is equipped with KEBA axis control, synchronous brushless motors with absolute encoders, external Fagor optical scales on the X/Y/Z axes, and an integrated C-axis for interpolation and rotation machining. The HMI is managed via a 27" Full HD touch monitor, accompanied by a 7" KEBA touch remote control, for convenient use both from the main panel and near the work area.
The EDM generator is a newly installed unit, designed by Boris Technologies, with a modular 60 A system expandable to 100 A. The machine also integrates Marzola EDM power electronics and spark control, a self-cleaning filter unit, and a dielectric cooling unit.
Mechanically, the machine has undergone a complete overhaul: ball screws overhauled and inspected, a ground worktable, an updated transmission with a complete replacement of belts and pulleys, a new pneumatic unit, completely redone electrical wiring, and a complete replacement of all main hydraulic components and pipes.
The machine is also equipped with a 6-position automatic tool magazine, an integrated C-axis, and a 1200 × 800 × 400 mm work tank, making it suitable for complex EDM machining, molds, precision parts, and applications requiring reliability, automation, and accurate process control.
